Also Jed flying through the air with the greatest of ease,,, smiling too.. the bottom picture is father and son and the stud Sid, Frostfires colt from a few years back.. Fall work in the winter

 I have to say this is a fantastic winter in Minnesota, we have enjoyed a lot of above normal temps,, I find I have less time to play then a normal winter though, I am doing a lot of wood cutting and fence fixing and chores I usually do in the fall, I have been playing a lot with the horses and getting a few of the older ones to stand in the pasture for me and let me rub their body down,, These are horse wild from North Dakota badlands, they are interesting to say the least... Curly boy seems to get jealous when I do this and causes much discontent. I keep telling him he is a horse not a pet!!!

Riding in the sunshine,,,,,,,Also a ride for my brother

What a great day in Minnesota we had such a perfect Januarary day cool but sunshine..  I followed tracks hoping to catch the coyotes and shoot them but couldn't catch up to them, still mad at them for eating our colt...last week... Dagnabid critters anyway... Curly boy even broke into a sweat and we never even trotted just a fast gaited wale that he has.... he is an awsome critter arogent but beautiful in his own way...

My first 2012 ride.

We had 20 above here today and sunshine, very very warm for Minn in Jan. Had a great ride and seen new country, I headed North towards Donna Wilsons Canada but after a few miles I just ran out of steam and Curly boy said lets go back to the USA Eh!!!!
 Grandson no 14 asked for a ride and he was very excited to go, we had a great time. I finally have one grandchild boy that is interested in the horses, we have one your grandaughter doing barrel races on one of our mares. Star Song out of Texas..
;
This is the narrow trail we were on today and through the woods, an old Deer trail, I was told there was a moose out back but we couldn't find it the neighbor has pictures but we didn't even find tracks. I had a great ride today and the chaps kept the wind off my legs and kept the brush off also. Was a great day for a great ride, did see one grouse but that was all. I forgot to wear my leather fringe jacket, dagnabit.
